Hi, I’m Di, photographer and owner of Di Watson Photography.

I live in Mulgoa, which is on the outskirts of Sydney with my pets, Labradors Tilly and Neddy, a cat who I was fostering and fell in love with and couldn’t bare to part with called Clancy and a Quaker Parrot that I adopted after he was handed into the vets where I have worked since I left high school.

My critters who travel with me on my landscape photography and wedding photography trips throughout the year with my offroad caravan. It’s an office and home on wheels when needed.

PORTRAITS AND WEDDINGS

I have a fantastic Rustic Country Studio at Mulgoa on 2 acres on a 25 acre farm, with an old shack, dam, old wagon, a truck, tractor and windmill, so lots of rustic stuff and lovely gardens.

The props make a great setting for family portraits and wedding formal photo shoots.

For more info on the Studio please have a look at Portrait Info

Photography for me started as a hobby. I had decided on becoming a vet nurse due to my love of animals in high school.

In 1991 after a few years of photographing friends weddings, I was booked by a beautiful couple to photograph their wedding.

And Di Watson Photography grew from there. I love the diversity of weddings, portraits, pets, and landscape photography.

I still love my vet nursing and work one day a week at  Penrith Vet Hospital where I’ve been for over 35 years.

Nowadays I am on reception mostly, greeting clients and their pets, helping with pet care and advice, and answering phones.

LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

We live in an amazing country with so much beauty and diversity in the land, the wildlife and people. I especially love the outback and the country, it’s a wonderful area of Australia that a lot of us don’t get to experience. The people you meet are a highlight, so warm & friendly & full of character.

Visit my online gallery where I have images of my travels throughout Australia, Canada and South Africa for sale.

I love travelling and exploring our beautiful country as often as time and my work commitments allows, the freedom of packing the caravan or swag and my critters, it is a great way to relax and I’m usually up for sunrise every morning wherever I am. That’s what photographers do!!

In April 2011 while trekking about in outback New South Wales staying at some farms and stations the thought of a new business idea to design and market a website called Farmstay Australia to promote Farmstays & Stationstays for accommodation & camping.

So my life is busy and I love every second of it, whether it is my weddings and portraits or trekking about some country roads looking for inspiration.

  Take care, Di  x
